Ikaruga: turn incoming fire into a counterattack

Ikaruga

Instead of fleeing every bullet, you move into fire that matches your colour. Reviewers enjoy navigating barrages by switching polarity.

A familiar stage becomes another challenge when you plan which enemies to shoot to preserve a chain. Survival leaves another goal to pursue.

What makes it fun

  1. Turn bullets into a counterattack

Move into bullets that match your ship's polarity, absorb them, then use Release Power to fire homing lasers. Each barrage asks you whether to dodge or switch polarity and absorb it.

  2. Chains change which enemies you shoot

To keep a chain going, you need to destroy enemies of the same color in sequence. Shooting every enemy on sight can break it, so you plan your targets and position around the enemies coming next.
